Széchenyi István Egyetem Győr, Széchenyi István University
The VR Learning Center at Széchenyi István University is committed to implementing 3D VR education.
MaxWhere ( http://www.maxwhere.com ) is a Virtual Reality platform for education and teamwork.
MaxWhere enables teachers and students to create and share 3D learning spaces with an almost limitless variety of integrated digital content. Using the platform, it takes no more than a single click to share an environment complete with spatially arranged pdf files, webpages, videos, slides, collaborative web services and even laboratory simulations through interactive 3D objects. Upon entering such an environment, students find themselves in a virtual room that is furnished with all the content and tools they need to learn. Because everything is spatially organized to begin with, they don’t have to waste time finding the materials they need to learn, or figuring out in what order they should proceed. As a result, MaxWhere guarantees a 50% improvement in the effectiveness of knowledge sharing and comprehension, as shown by the VR Learning Lab at Szechenyi Istvan University, based on a comparison with a variety of e-learning platforms.
Besides its groundbreaking role in cyber-learning, MaxWhere also provides professional 3D offices for teams working on collaborative projects. MaxWhere’s offices are designed with typical project workflows in mind so as to speed up a wide range of collaborative tasks. All of the well-known web based collaboration tools (Google Drive, Office Online, Teamwork, Asana, Slack, and others) can be integrated with a single click. Studies conducted by the VR Learning Lab have shown that collaborative tasks across the board can be sped up by 30% using MaxWhere.
Dozens of educational institutions and companies are already using MaxWhere to streamline common tasks and make their operation more enjoyable and more effective. The MaxWhere platform and a large selection of 3D spaces are also available to the general public for download through the MaxWhere store ( http://www.maxwhere.com ). Downloaded spaces can be freely customized for specific learning environments and collaborative projects. MaxWhere’s SDK also allows users to design their own spaces complete with functional 3D simulations.
